2022-03-29RISK OF COLLATERAL DAMAGE IN THE NORTH WESTERN, WESTERN, AND SOUTHWEST BLACK SEA
There is a threat of drifting mines in the Northwest, West, and Southwest areas of the Black Sea. Drifting mines have been detected, and national authorities are working to find and neutralize any other mines in the region. Masters should take all precautions to mitigate the mine threat including avoiding floating objects, keep the forward area of the ship clear of crew, and using effective look-outs. In addition, we advise that shipping take appropriate countermeasures as described in "ATP-02.1 - Naval Cooperation and Guidance For Shipping (NCAGS) Manual". The manual can be downloaded from the NATO Shipping Centre homepage www.shipping.nato.int . The risk of collateral damage or direct hits on Civilian Shipping in the War Risk Area (NAVAREA III 0124/2022) of the Black Sea area remains VERY HIGH. The risk of GPS jamming, AIS spoofing, communications jamming, electronic interference and cyber-attacks in the area are considered HIGH. Harassment and diversion of shipping in the area cannot be excluded. A significant number of navigation warnings have been issued by NAVAREA COORDINATOR III (responsible for broadcasting NAVAREA warnings on the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov). In order to avoid an accidental engagement, it is recommended to maintain AIS signal containing basic identification information. 2022-03-17 RISK OF COLLATERAL DAMAGE IN THE NORTH WESTERN BLACK SEA

The risk of collateral damage or direct hits on Civilian Shipping in the North Western Black Sea area is considered VERY HIGH. There are strong indicators that the intensity of military operations along the Ukrainian Black Sea coastline and in the Gulf of Odessa are increasing. The risk of GPS jamming, AIS spoofing, communications jamming, electronic interference and cyber-attacks in the area are considered high. Harassment and diversion of shipping in the area cannot be excluded.

A large number of navigation warnings have been issued by NAVAREA COORDINATOR III (responsible for broadcasting NAVAREA warnings on the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov), covering a number of warning areas, including mine danger areas (NAVAREA III 0092/22 (BLACK SEA).
